A New Year, and a New Calendar...
Howdy all! Hope everyone's holidays were as great as ours.
Now that we've fully recovered from the season, we've much to tell you aboout.
First, two great shows at our beloved Granby North have had us buzzing ever since, an outdoor gig in November that was insanely fun... even though our still unthawed fingers have yet to forgive us...
and a mess o'new dates for the upcoming months added to our calendar.
First among them... yes... it's finally happening... we are playing Ghent's Plaza del Sol on Saturday, January 19th! They've been up and cranking-out GREAT mexican food (seriously, and I'm a jerk about food) for a few months now, and we're set to storm the place...
I told'em we were a Mariachi Band... I hope we get away with it...
We're also booked for more shows at Granby North, The Heart of Virginia Festival, and we finally make an assault on the Peninsula at Newport News' The Weekend Pub...
it's looking to be a good year...

Granby North!!!
WOW! That's all we can say... what an amazing gig! The restaurant, the staff, the food, and the crowd!
Check the photos of the throwdown... (gotta talk to our photographer friends about shooting the audience too!)
Big giant huge thanks to Granby North owner, Holly Spires for having us, for one of the best nights of our lives.
We WILL see ya'll again... next time, Friday August 17th.
Plaza del Sol show rescheduled.
Opening a new restaurant is seldom constrained to deadlines, and our friends at Plaza del Sol may, or may not be ready for next Saturday, so they're rescheduling the Grand Opening party for the following week. We will be performing Saturday, July 21, Starting at 8 pm...

N E W
R E C O R D I N G S !
Now with REAL CHEESE Stage Banter and Gen-u-wine, Grade A, Audience Reaction for your listening or auditioning pleasure!
Recorded live from the board at the Harris Creek Acoustic House Concert Series 8th anniversary party by sound wizard Jim Palacio of FM Sound and Lighting.
The audience was made up of some of the finest musicians, acoustic or otherwise, 'round these, or any other parts, and we were terrified that our "electric song stylings" would be met with more venom and derision than Dylan faced at Newport... we could not have been more wrong...
have a listen...

We're all like, ya know, professional now or sumpthin'... we've played our first paid gig! A private party in the same hall that hosted Michael and Jodi's wedding receptionthe night the first sparks of this latest incarnation of our band caught fire.
Empty tables, and a full dance floor... does it get any better?

"Meet the Horses on the Beat"... a benefit for the Virginia Beach Police Mounted Patrol... fortunately, none of the folks-in-blue recognized me without an orange jumpsuit! Rainy weather didn't help the turnout much, but the crowd that did show had a good time, as we dodged dripping water from the leaky stage. A few more photos to peruse, as well as a short, low-res video clip of our sound-check, both courtesy of Nick Webb, eldest offspring of our very own Stephen (yes, even more artistic nepotism )...

To my knowledge, this was our first gig in front of sober people... I think... The Seven-Cities Scion Club's "End of Summer Scion Bash". Great weather and crowd, and lot of oddly cool little cars running around... not too odd to Michael, though... he owns two of the amazingly functional boxes. Check a few photos of our set, this time shot by my wife Christy...

My son came out to rehearsal week-before-last for a farewell jam with the old guys, before heading off to college... he played the living hell outta my bass, and made an already proud pappy burst a bit more... he also came toting a camera, and just emailed these... Check out the shots.

Friday saw our first gig at a private party in Chesapeake, Virginia... a good time was had by all, but that could've been the vast quantity of beer the audience quickly went through... regardless of the crowd's intoxicated sincerity, we enjoyed playing... a lot...
